WHO ARE WE?

In Matthew 16 Jesus spoke of building His Church. In Ephesians Paul speaks of Christ as the Head of the Church. We strive to live up to these truths by modeling our lives after the pattern left by Him. We are simply Bible believing Christians who want to use the Bible only and be Christians only.

Our mission revolves primarily around relationships. We want to build stronger better relationships with each other and with God and help others to do the same.  Since being established in Nova Scotia by legislative charter in April 1960, the Church of Christ at 48 Convoy Avenue has been active in Halifax, Nova Scotia as a Christ-focused, bible-believing congregation.

If you desire pure and undefiled religion that is not about ceremony or dogma but about truth and a real effective relationship with God through Christ then this is the place for you.

WHAT WE BELIEVE?

Our faith is defined by the truths revealed in scripture therefore we have no creed or statement of faith. There are some things that make us different than some churches you may have experienced.

  • Truth can be known absolutely and is found in scripture
  • The Bible is the only rule of faith and practice for the Church.
  • The Bible is God’s only communication with man today and is meant to be studied and applied to life.
  • God loves all mankind and wants to have a relationship with us.
  • Sin separates men from God and every person will need to deal with that separation.
